With closest grocery store 55 km away, the community of Pool's Cove is embracing food sustainability

Fifty-five kilometres away from the nearest grocery store, the small community of roughly 188 residents in Pool's Cove is turning inward for the 2nd year to produce healthy food, with a grant from Central Health and Food First NL. In total, 72 people in the community took part in planting the garden last year, inspiring others to have spin-off gardens. If residents don't have fresh vegetables for their Sunday dinner, the community garden provides.
